Free Workshop for Somerset Residents

The Corona Virus has taken its toll on all of us this year both mentally and physically through the various health implications, lockdowns and restrictions.   We have all had to adapt to new work regimes or home schooling changes which, in many cases, causes isolation, low moral and reduced productivity.

We can all benefit from a change of scene, having some quality time to ourselves and learning something new to do at home.

Magdalen Farm has teamed up with Somerset Skills and Learning to offer adults living in Somerset FREE workshops.  By guiding people through how to make delicious meals “From Plot to Plate”, you will learn how easy it is to grow your own fruit, herbs and vegetables at home and then enhance your cookery skills making delicious yet wholesome soups and breads.  All this can help to improve our wellbeing and build resilience if we face further lockdown restrictions.

Each session is hands-on and we will provide all ingredients/materials to make a tasty lunch(with spare to take home), plus guides on growing your own food and more tasty recipes to try at home.

All sessions are restricted to up to 4 people only and must be prebooked.  There are a variety of dates to choose from all using fresh seasonal produce that you can grow for yourself.  As a supprt group the sessions are legal through any lockdown period and qualifies as training under the furlugh scheme.  Magdalen endorses strict social distancing rules to ensure your safety.  Timings are 10am to 2:15pm to fit around work day committments or any school drop offs/pickups.

You must have a Somerset postal address to be eligible and 19 years old and not in receipt of SS&L funding at the current time.  A small amount of paperwork is required for SS&L and we will need a form of identity
