Families on the Farm - Sleepover - November

Thanks to support from The National Lottery Community Fund , Magdalen is pleased to offer a series of sleepovers for families with a child who has a learning difficulty or disability.

Magdalen is a working organic farm set in the glorious countryside of Dorset & Somerset.  At the heart of our farm is an education centre from which we offer activities with accommodation and delicious meals.  Our aim is to encourage as many people as possible from all walks of life to enjoy the great outdoors.

Our family breaks are a great opportunity for mums, dads, brothers and sisters or indeed any family member to come along together and enjoy a fun time.  This specific event is aimed at families who have a child with a learning difficulty or disability to enjoy time together and bring parents together to share experiences.    Accommodation will be provided in our converted farm buildings with 1 room designated per family with shared bathroom facilities.  We will offer delicious seasonal food throughout the stay using as much produce from our own farm as possible - just let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements as we will be only to happy to accommodate your requirements.

There will be the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities led by our qualified staff and based out on our working farm.  Help us to care and feed our pigs, chickens and goats, as well as discovering how our fruit and vegetables grow and a highlight of any stay at Magdalen is to relax and enjoy the company of others around a campfire in the evening.  All for just a small charge per person.

On-site we have 3 all-terrain wheelchairs to help those less able to get around the farm along with a dedicated "Changing place" (please bring your own hoist if required).  We will tailor the event to suit the needs of the individuals in the group so it is important you let us know in advance of any requirements you and your family may have.

Eligilbility - Open to families who have a child with a learning difficulty or disability - evidence may be required.  Each family is allowed 1 activity day and 1 sleepover per 6 month period (January to early August or mid August to December).
