Magdalen is a working organic farm set in the glorious countryside of Dorset & Somerset. At the heart of our farm is an education centre from which we offer activities and delicious meals. Our aim is to encourage as many people as possible from all walks of life to enjoy the great outdoors.
This activity day is open to families who have a teenager with learning difficulties or disability and is a great opportunity for mums, dads, brothers and sisters or indeed any family member to come along together and enjoy a fun time outdoors.
The day is being supported by The National Lottery Community Fund and costs £5.50 per person (bursaries available) and includes all your activities and a tasty jacket potato lunch with a choice of fillings, followed by homemade cake with light refreshments.
Please note this date has been chosen to showcase the whole program of sleepovers and day visits and the funder will be visiting to take part in the activities and may photograph with flash and video the event.
We will start with a tour of the farm, feeding the animals and visiting our kitchen gardens to see where we grow our food. This is a special "Craft" day with the opportunity a scavenger hunt around the farm as well as creating some wonderful craft momentos to take home at the end of the day.
On-site we have 3 all-terrain wheelchairs to help those less able to get around the farm along with a dedicated "Changing Place" (please bring your own hoist if required).
We will tailor the event to suit the needs of the individuals in the group so it is important you let us know in advance of any requirements you and your family may have.
